Ben Baber 1st U/18 Boy over 30 & 25 km

Dave Baber, A. N. Other, Genevieve van Coller & Alan van Coller – winning team over 60 & 45 km

We are very proud of all our cyclists, and not just those who got a podium finish. We are also very proud of our PTA for their incredibly hard work in transporting everything to Lindani, catering for 2 days, and then transporting it back again on Monday. And then there are the Junior and Pre Prep teachers who provided the activities for the young people for two days. I spent about 10 minutes in their venue on Saturday morning and they were so busy that none of them even noticed I was there!

And finally, our music group continues to get better and better and entertained the crowd for several hours after the Saturday rides. The moment they finished playing, the bulk of the crowd began to leave as well, so their brief was obviously fulfilled.

Well done all of you!

Last Friday we were privileged to have as a special guest and speaker at our assembly PiersCruickshank, winner of 10 gold medals in the Duzi Canoe Marathon. Piers spoke of overcoming massive odds and working very hard to achieve personal goals.

Alan van Coller introduced Piers to the School and spoke very briefly about his own paddling experiences. Our learners were VERY privileged to have persons of such stature come and speak to them.

Sport for the week

Our Senior Prep HOCKEY girls played against Laerskool Eenheid and won 3 – 0. Well done girls, and well done coaches.

The Senior Prep boys played CRICKET at Lephalale against Laerskool Ellisras and they continued to apply the lessons learnt over the season.

Our High School girls played SOCCER against Meetsetshehla and had an exciting game where they displayed their ever-improving skills and fighting spirit.

Our High School boys played CRICKET against Meetsetshehla yesterday and they recorded a win with 5 over to spare. Titshetjo continued his excellent fielding with three catches, while Moses got 17 runs.

SWAZI Trac 3 Reserves MTB Classic

On Friday 19 September three families will be travelling to Swaziland to participate in the SWAZI Trac 3 Reserves MTB Classic. The races include 10km, 20km, 36km and 72km distances ridden through three local game reserves and a sugar estate.

After the race we will move on to Malalotja Game Reserve where we will camp and enjoy some adventure activities over the next three days. On offer is an excellent, fully guided, 12 stage zip-line, hiking, birding and mountain biking. Any families wishing to join this expedition – please contact Mrs van Rensburg at the office and she will be able to advise you.

Our own Dave Baber at the 72 km finish last year. Dave won the race and will be back to defend his title this year.
